Monitoring & Performance Testing
Overview
The Omni Intelligence (OI) online platform's Monitoring & Performance Testing function enables the user to monitor their communication channels, set up Load Generators and Phone Trunks, and run Performance Testing scenarios to assess their networks. This function can only be accessed by MPT Admins.
The following diagram is a visual representation of the overall architecture behind MPT:
As shown in the figure, MPT is used to simulate both customer calls being made to a contact centre and agent simulation. The diagram also displays the important roles of both Load Generators, which are used to produce calls and probe agents, as well as Trunks.
NOTE: Instead of using the public network, a contact centre can opt to locally host and run MPT, which will use their own local servers and trunks.
Instructions
- Log onto the Omni Intelligence website using an MPT Admin account. Navigate to Services -> MPT.
- You should arrive at this screen, which by default is the 'Scenarios' interface:
The three main functions displayed on the top of the interface: Scenarios, Load Generators and Phone Trunks.
You can click 'To Analytics' to return to the Realtime Analytics main interface at any time.
Functions
Scenarios
A scenario is a set of specified procedures that can be configured and used to monitor or run performance tests.
Click here to learn about setting up, configuring and running scenarios.
TIP: Before you get started on creating scenarios, it is recommended to read the below sections on setting up load generators and trunks. Otherwise, some features, such as large-scale performance testing, may be limited.
Load Generators
Load generators are virtual machines used to simulate a load for performance testing. MPT Admins can set up and configure load generators through request to Omni Intelligence (OI).
Click here to learn about setting up and configuring Load Generators.
Phone Trunks
Phone Trunks provide network access to an organisation through a communications channel. MPT Admins can set up and configure trunks through request to Omni Intelligence (OI).
Click here to learn about setting up and configuring phone trunks.

Probe Configuration in PureCloud
Instructions for setting up PureCloud for Agent simulation can be found here.
Agent Simulation Probe Setup
Probes are connector agents used to simulate agents for performance testing.

MPT Training
Omni Intelligence can provide training for users. Click here for details.
